Especially for innovative education in higher classes Unimat CNC is an interesting option. Due to the modular construction an almost infinte number of application possibilities arise. The Unimat CNC slides of the mill and the lathe are equiped with 2A stepper motors.
Some of the characteristics are:
- Cross Slide: travel 32mm (extendable)
- Longitudinal Slide: travel 145mm (extendable)
- Accuracy: max. 0,08mm
- CNC lathe with thread cutting function
- CNC-Lathe - up to 6 axes
Particularly noteworthy are the low costs of this system. Instead of purchasing industrial machines
those eat up the entire budget for years (high entry costs and ongoing expenditures for maintenance)
and on top of that are not at the students' disposal, with Unimat CNC an entire machine park can be made available at only a part of the costs. Students can now use this machines actively and autonomously.
The machines are controlled via the free software
EMC2 included in the bundle
CoolCNC Linux. therefore students can also install the software legally and exercise at home.
What was designed in a CAD application can be converted into machine code in a CAM application.
EMC2 offers a grafical interface as well as sufficient insight into the G-code.
